I am not the best, but there is little I cannot do… proficiently. I have never gotten good at anything that I could not walk away from… except this. I aim always to make things better and, so, have spent most of my life Against the Wind.
This all started with letters to the editor at the Seattle Times more than 20 years ago when George W. Bush was president. It was nice to see my opinion in print. Yes, Virginia, they actually printed newspapers then. That morphed into writing letters to politicians, celebrities, and corporations about harmful things they were doing to people and the environment, although I still write letters to the editor at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
Then, along came The Daily Kos. I started posting there as 40ford, commenting on the issues I care deeply about, pointing out what I saw as mistakes and including remedies for these ills.
I was a latecomer to Twitter. I thought Twitter was a waste of useful time… until Donald Trump. I knew he would never read my tweets, but there was something really compelling about knowing that what I had to say would show up on his phone.
I campained for Bernie Sanders who I consider to be the most authenitically real person in politics. If you are wondering if I am as far to the left as Bernie, relax. I am somewhere to his left.
Please enjoy these political posts with my prescriptions for how to set thing right. Feel free to leave comments on my comments page.
Stand with me Against the Wind.
Thom
