About Out of the Darkness
Our only way forward is to trust science to lead us out of the darkness.
These posts are science opinion pieces. Before you get riled up, let me explain. Regardless of the facts or the scientific proof, everything we encounter is colored by our own implicit biases and personal experience. There is nothing truly objective.
All we can do is to remember this and be open to more/better information. After all the sun revolving around our flat earth was once the science of the day… until Nicholaus Copernicus and Ferdinand Magellan proved those ideas to be wrong. Homo sapiens spent a long time in complete scientific darkness before they came along.
My main purpose for the “Out of the Darkness” blog, however, is to post writings from a project that I began almost a decade ago. That project is beginning to look like a book with the working title: Personal Experience: What It Is and Why We Have It (a treatise on consciousness)
